[STEADY BROOK, NL] - Martin Hanzalek feels like his business has been singled out by the Town of Steady Brook. The owner and operator of My Newfoundland Adventures said he couldn't believe it when town workers showed up unannounced Tuesday morning and removed the sign above his adventure tourism business located at the base of Marble Mountain.

"They took it down while we were open and never even came in to tell us they were going to be on the roof," said Hanzalek. "They just trucked it away. I thought someone stole it until I called the town office and they told us they had it in their garage and we could come pick it up." We have been on several activities with Martin Hanzalek and his business My Newfoundland Adventures over the last 6 years and can honestly say that as far as a tourism company goes Hanzalek and his group do a fantastic job a showcasing Newfoundland and Labrador. It is small minded for the town of steady brook to target a entrepreneur like Hanzalek that offers programs like dog sledding, snow kiting, ice climbing, cave tours, and the like. Adventure tourism is good for Newfoundland as a whole and the work Martin Hanzalek does is representative of the direction Newfoundland is going, and right in line with the new find yourself tourism marketing program being currently promoted by the department of tourism. The own of steady brook Gould be ashamed of themselves and find something better to do than harass Hanzalek.

Martin Hanzalek is one of the most ethically driven, caring, and positively motivated business owners I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Marty is always focused on improving his life and the lives of others through his business, volunteer work, and community initiatives.

Whenever I run into Martin Hanzalek he is always up to something fun and interesting. I think the town of steady brook missed out on having a great business. Hanzalek now operates a tourism and Electeic bike alternative transport and energy company out of St. John's which seems to be a much better and more welcoming business climate. Good for him!
